Candidates

Carol Drummond and Tony Clark founded The Housing Executive to focus on recruiting managers and executives in the social housing sector. We have built upon a successful track record as former directors of the longest established housing recruitment company and have been working in the sector for over 15 years.

We believe in getting the basics right from start to finish. Whether you are interested in an interim placement, consultancy or a permanent job we treat you as an individual and take the time to understand your requirements and expectations.

In the changing world of public sector housing, many individuals find that they are now in the job market and that it has been several years since they have prepared a CV or even been for an interview. We offer free advice and support in both CV writing and interview performance and we hope to offer continuing support throughout our candidates’ careers.

    Our service commitment to you:
  • Same day acknowledgement of your CV
  • Honest and open with you regarding suitability for particular posts
  • Interview preparation and CV advice
  • Full briefing on vacancies: job descriptions, person specifications, competencies and background information on the organisation
  • Timely communication - keeping you informed
  • Feedback on progress and after each interview
  • Consent - we never send your CV to an organisation without consulting you
  • Negotiation on your behalf when desired
  • Confidentiality assured - we are always discreet
  • Assignment details confirmed in writing
  • Payments on time, every time if you work through our payroll

    What we need from you:
  • CV by email, post, web or fax
  • Proof of relevant qualifications
  • Two work references covering at least the last two years’ work
  • Proof of Identity and eligibility to work in the UK
    A typical meeting might include:
  • Discussion & clarification of CV, getting to know your background
  • Feedback on CV: strengths & weaknesses, points for improvement
  • Structured interview using behavioural type questions
  • Constructive interview feedback on each question
  • Agreeing references
  • Discussing career interests and potential employers - who is your ideal employer?
  • Who can we contact on your behalf?

The Housing Executive can’t guarantee to get you that dream job, but we do promise to listen, advise, support and network on your behalf.

If you would like to speak in confidence about your career or CV, please call. We understand that it is not always possible to speak freely, so we can always arrange to talk to you out of office hours.
